Colorado—within our state boundaries is land once claimed by Spanish Kings and Mexican governors. Although Native people first lived in the region, the first Europeans to visit came from Spain. Early Hispanic families moved north from New Mexico to settle in Southern Colorado. During these programs, we hear historical conversations. We discover who the Hispanics are, where they came from, how they lived in the past and what they have contributed to the wonderful state of Colorado.

In Search of Displaced Aurarians illustrates the scholarship benefit for former residents of Denver's Auraria neighborhood. Since the community was relocated in the 1970’s to build the Auraria Higher Education Center in Denver, Colorado, Displaced Aurarians and their descendants have received scholarships to attend the three institutions on the Auraria Campus – the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and the Community College of Denver.
Westside Friends is a retelling, using music and still photographs, of the history of Denver's Auraria neighborhood, relocated through urban renewal in the 1970s for construction of the tri-institutional Auraria Higher Education Center. The video features a musical performance by award winning Chicano theatre musicians at El Centro Su Teatro in Denver, Colorado.
